The staff at our Leominster Mental Health Services Office was delighted when six racks of new clothing appeared in their conference room. The donated clothes would be a welcome sight to the individuals served by the office, most of whom have very limited funds. Who was responsible for this wonderful gift? None other than the office’s downstairs neighbor and landlord, Allen’s Department Store.  Allen’s needed space for new spring merchandise, and Tucker Allen was happy to donate their overstock goods to “people who would want and use them.”  When all was said and done, 600-800 pieces of clothing had found new homes.  A family business, Allen’s has been a fixture in Leominster for more than 100 years. With their obvious commitment to the community, it’s no wonder!
