Michael Seibold, Executive Vice President for Operations and Strategic Development for Open Sky Community Services, was one of several special honorees at the Arc/Center of Hope Foundation Legislative event featuring Governor Charles Baker, held at the AC Marriott Hotel in Worcester on May 30, 2019. Michael received a Leadership award and citations from both the Massachusetts House of Representatives and the Massachusetts Senate for his 40 years of commitment to community inclusion.

Comments made by Ken Bates in presenting the award:

“Michael is a true champion of community inclusion who has counseled and inspired countless people across our great community. He embodies the idea that everyone should have opportunities to grow and learn. This August will mark Michael’s 40th year – 4 decades – building stronger communities with Alternatives Unlimited, now Open Sky Community Services. His focus has always been on community connections and providing opportunities for individuals served to become engaged in their communities – as neighbors, friends, volunteers and coworkers. He has a remarkable ability to make everyone feel like they have something to contribute, that they have value. And, he’s expert at helping both staff and individuals identify how their skills can bring value to the table. For the staff fortunate enough to be supervised by Michael, he is a true mentor – wise and insightful, compassionate and empathetic. A wonderful listener willing to share his own experiences – to pass along the wisdom he’s gained over so many years to a new generation of champions.

Congratulations, Michael!
