Open Sky Celebrate NoWoCo Pride

In celebration of North Worcester County (NoWoCo) Pride Week, July 13-18, Open Sky staff and individuals attended the week’s events that opened with Pride Flag raisings in Leominster, Fitchburg, Lunenburg and Gardner.

Adult Community Clinical Services (ACCS) Peer Staff David Holmes represented Open Sky at the Pride Fest 2022 in Fitchburg.

Open Sky is invested in the North County LGBTQIA+ community and plans to open Safe Homes North, an LGBTQIA+ youth resource center, at Fitchburg State University this fall.

Open Sky Community Services and the ACCS Pride Club is proud to have been a Blue Sponsor this year to support NoWoCo Pride, their activities, and the greater LGBTQIA+ community in North Worcester County.

Other activities that staff and individuals attended included city officials and State Representatives reading official declarations of support for North Worcester County Pride and for the LGBTQIA+ individuals in their respective cities, a “Paws up for Pride” Festival, including a pet parade, and a reception at the Fitchburg Art Museum to thank the Pride Week sponsors. 

Open Sky is a leading provider of Adult Community Clinical Services (ACCS) for individuals referred by the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health. Safe Homes, a program of Open Sky, has been supporting LGBTQIA+ youth in Worcester for more than 25 years and opened Safe Homes North virtually in 2021. The program is expected to open on the Fitchburg State University campus in Herlihy Hall this fall. It will offer activities, support, and mental health counseling to students and youth in the community, aged 14-23.
