Square Loom Weaving – Potholders with Susan Johnson

Did you have a square metal weaving loom as a child? If so, join artist Susan Johnson on a trip down Memory Lane!

If you didn’t have one, you are in for a treat! Fun for all ages!

In conjunction with our Weaving Community exhibit, artist Susan Johnson will be teaching a one night workshop to create square loom potholders.

Participants will learn the basics of weaving on a square loom to create two potholders to take home, just like the ones in the gallery that Susan created for her display in the exhibit.

Using a traditional metal weaving loom you will learn how to weave and finish off a potholder … or two! You will also learn to play with different patterns and colors.

You can opt to keep your potholders for use in the kitchen or learn to make a wallet by assembling your two potholders together. You will be provided with all the materials and a brand new square metal loom, which will be yours to take home and keep!

$45.00 per participant. All materials provided. Participation is limited and pre-registration is required. Please email Mary.Laliberte@openskycs.org to pre-register.

Wednesday, August 2, 2023 from 6:00-8:00 pm

All materials provided!
