Five awardees of the annual People of Courage Awards have been announced. The Social Justice Advocacy and Action Award is being awarded to Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey. Corporate Award winner is Hanover Insurance for efforts to improve their Corporate Equality Index through the Human Rights Campaign. The Public Service Award Winner is Dale Lepage, a noted entertainer in the region and the producer and host of New England Pride TV. The Volunteer Award winner is Michelle Baronas, a longtime friend and volunteer of the Safe Homes program. The Youth and Young Adult Award winner is Aliana Roman, a peer leader in the Safe Homes program.
The awards will be presented at the Safe Homes Gala and People of Courage Awards on Friday, May 5 at the Beechwood Hotel in Worcester. Presenting Sponsor for the event is Fallon Health.
