March 2020

Although at the present time, no one in the Open Sky Community has tested positive for COVID-19 (the coronavirus), we want to make sure that the families of the individuals we serve know about efforts we are taking to help ensure the health and wellness of those receiving our supports and services, their families and our employees

In order to be prepared to respond quickly and appropriately to the challenges ahead, we have convened a COVID-19 Task Force led by Liz Olivera-Mustard, VP of Quality Management. The Task Force, which is meeting daily, will be making recommendations to help keep our community safe. Using guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH), we have communicated with all staff on steps that can be taken to help prevent the spread of the virus and are implementing enhanced disinfection protocols across our programs.

Although we don’t yet know how this situation will unfold, we are already instituting new policies and procedures to help lower the risk of infection. Additional information will be forthcoming if there are any changes that affect the program(s) serving your family member(s). Please be assured that we will get accurate information to you as soon as possible and will also be in regular communication.

Even in this time of uncertainty, our goal remains the same – to provide the best possible supports and services to the individuals and families that depend on us.
