Information for Families and Guardians

December 2020

Dear Families and Guardians,

Our Day Services managers have connected with you to share important information about Open Sky Community Services’ Day Programs. Effective next Thursday, December 17, 2020, we will be temporarily suspending our Day Habs and DD Community Based Day program on-site services. We will continue to serve individuals with remote supports and to provide support for individuals who are employed in the community

This decision was a difficult one and yet we are certain it is the correct one. The number of COVID-19 infections currently affecting Massachusetts (and indeed the nation) have made the provision of in-person services for a vulnerable population extremely challenging and potentially risky. We are committed to placing the safety of your loved ones above all other considerations.

We understand how difficult this situation is for individuals, families and guardians.

We will continue to provide remote supports following Statewide COVID-19 guidance for individuals.

We are hopeful that the circumstances will change and enable us to reopen safely in January. We will update you when reopening dates are confirmed. The managers of our Day Services will continue to answer any questions you may have. I can also be reached at 508 989 9556 or donna.macleod-prior@openskycs.org . Thank you for your understanding and support as we work together to ensure that this temporary suspension is as smooth as possible.

Sincerely,

Donna Macleod Prior

Vice President of DD Services
