Karen Duby brings decades of experience

Open Sky Community Services has announced the appointment of its new Vice President of Behavioral Health, Karen Duby, LICSW. As part of her role on Open Sky’s Senior Leadership team, Duby will be responsible for oversight of all of the organization's behavioral health programs, including Career Services, Respite Services, and the Adult Community Clinical Services Division.

“Karen comes to us with extensive experience in leading behavioral health programs in the Central Massachusetts area,” said Ken Bates, President and CEO of Open Sky Community Services. “Her strong clinical and management background, paired with her passion for the field, will greatly strengthen our services at Open Sky and we’re excited for what she brings to the team.”

Duby began working in the mental health field after obtaining her Master of Social Work in May 1993, from Boston College. Duby previously served as a Vice President at Community Healthlink in Worcester, MA where she led division leadership of up to 20 directors and supervisors in operating their respective programs. Duby also provided clinical oversight for Community Healthlink’s primary care services, Homeless support services and the Continuum of Inpatient Substance Use Disorder services.

Duby’s career at Community Healthlink spanned 20 years during which she held an additional eight titles, held roles including Assistant Vice President of Recovery Services, Director of Emergency Services in North County, Director of Program for Assertive Community Treatment and Crisis Stabilization Clinician.

“I’m excited for this new opportunity to utilize my skills in leading, developing and inspiring excellence in a behavioral health organization,” said Duby. “I think I can bring a fresh perspective and new approach, and I am excited to get started with Ken and the entire Open Sky team.”
