Open Sky Family Member and Guardian Update July 10-Day Services

July 2020

To the Individuals and Families of Open Sky Day Services,

Thank you for your ongoing care and perseverance through this unprecedented period. We understand how challenging the past 4 months have been for all our individuals, families and caregivers.

As our State begins to re-open and make strides towards the “new normal”, individuals and families are understandably anxiously anticipating when day services and how they will operate.

On July 2, reopening guidance was released outlining health and safety requirements for Massachusetts day programs.  At Open Sky our priority is to move forward cautiously knowing that the health and safety of our individuals, families and staff are the primary focus of our planning.

Given the capacity restrictions in our facilities  and transportation system, we need to significantly adjust our services and staffing to meet these changes.   In the interim, we will continue to offer our remote supports to all individuals.

Our managers have been reaching out to all individuals, their families and caregivers to discuss the risks and benefits associated with returning to their day program.  Our agency planning teams are committed to designing services based on people’s needs and available resources while ensuring that procedures are aligned with DDS and MassHealth expectations.

We appreciate your patience as we work towards defining our services and will keep you updated with any new information. As always, please do not hesitate to contact the manager of the day program with questions, suggestions or concerns.  I can also be reached at donna.macleod-prior@openskycs.org.

Sincerely,

Donna Macleod Prior
