The Safe Homes program received a boost this week from the Reliant Foundation who awarded $10,000 to the program to explore potential expansion to the north central Massachusetts area. This topic has been under discussion for several months among members of the Safe Homes Advisory Committee and the Board. Fitchburg State University has expressed interest in exploring this concept further with us and is convening a meeting to discuss the idea in the coming weeks. More information to come.

Safe Homes serves LGBTQ+ youth ages 14 to 23 through a Drop In Center providing a wide array of peer-led, adult-advised social and support services, educational training, a food pantry, assistance with employment, mental health counseling, transgender support and supplies and assistance with housing services. The Drop In has 30 to 50 youth each week, and a total of 300 youth access services each year.
