The Polar Express is a 2004 American computer-animated Christmas fantasy adventure film directed by Robert Zemeckis, who co-wrote the screenplay with William Broyles Jr., based on the 1985 picture book of the same name by Chris Van Allsburg. It tells the story of a young boy who, on Christmas Eve, sees a mysterious train bound for the North Pole stop outside his window and is invited aboard by its conductor. The boy joins several other children as they embark on a journey to visit Santa Claus preparing for Christmas. (Quoted from Wikipedia, The Free Encyclopedia) The film is 100 minutes in length.
ValleyCAST, in collaboration with the Ayer Film Society, is diversifying their community building endeavors in and through a feature length film series. These movie events will include a discussion after each screening. They are free and open to the general public and offer inclusive opportunities for Whitinsville and surrounding communities to engage in cinematic shared experiences. The public will view films of consistently high quality once a month in an inviting and welcoming setting. Films designed to promote knowledge of and appreciation for cinema as an art form will be screened. The discussions that follow the movie presentations stand to enhance participants' film experience and promote community at the same time. Presented by special arrangement with Swank Motion Pictures.
