Call for Zentangle® Artists from New England:
You’ve been tangling for years. You've gone beyond the tile to other surfaces. You’ve put down your pen and picked up other instruments. You’ve incorporated your tangles into paintings, printmaking, clay, fabric, stained glass, sculpture and more. We want to share what you’ve done, where you’ve been, and where you’re going!
Beyond Zentangle is a gallery exhibit like no other. ValleyCAST, in collaboration with Zentangle, Inc., will host both a virtual exhibit on social media and an in-person exhibit in the Spaulding R. Aldrich Heritage Gallery at the Alternatives’ Whitin Mill, 50 Douglas Road in Whitinsville, MA.
Please submit up to 3 images of your one most ambitious piece of Zentangle Inspired Artwork in any medium, 2D or 3D. Images of artwork must be RGB at 150 DPI in .jpg format and each file must be no larger than 2 MB.
Please send up to 3 images of one artwork and be sure and name each image as follows:
firstname.lastname.1, firstname.lastname.2, firstname.lastname.3
Include in your email: the title of your piece, materials used, dimensions of your piece, and a price if it is for sale and NFS if it is not for sale, but include a price of worth for insurance. Also, please include where you are located and any website, Facebook, and/or Instagram accounts you have, so we may link our social media posts to you.
All work submitted will be included in a ValleyCAST/Zentangle Virtual Art Gallery Exhibit on our social media pages. Some works from these submissions will be selected by our curator for an inperson exhibit at the Spaulding R. Aldrich Heritage Gallery in Whitinsville, MA. If you are unable to bring your work to the gallery for the in-person exhibit, please note that in your email message when you make your submission, so we know that you only wish to be in the virtual exhibit.
We will accept submissions until June 12, 2022 or until we have reached 100 submissions, whichever comes first.
You will be notified with further instructions for the in-person gallery exhibit. Please keep in mind that you must be able to transport your own work to the gallery in Whitinsville, MA on or before June 20, 2022.
The opening for the Beyond Zentangle in-person gallery exhibit will be on June 30, 2022 from 5-8 PM and coincides with our Kick-Off Concert in our ValleyCAST Free Summer Concert Series. Please plan to attend and bring your friends and family for a fantastic night of art, music and community!
