History
The Valley Friendship Tour began with Gerry Gaudette, one of the original Board Chairs of Alternatives, and his wife Barbara. Inspired to bring people together in support of individuals with disabilities, they launched the first bike-a-thon—and even rode a tandem bike to show their support.

What started as a small community event has grown into a powerful tradition of inclusion and fundraising, with the 30-mile route still known today as “Gerry’s Ride,” honoring their lasting impact on the community.
New to VFT? Here's what you need to know!
