Circular Weaving - Sunflowers with Morgan Tartakoff
Who doesn't LOVE sunflowers!!!
In conjunction with our Weaving Community exhibit, artist Morgan Tartakoff will be teaching a two part workshop to create circular woven sunflowers!
Participants will learn the basics of circular weaving and how to add the felt pedals for their very own sunflower, just like the ones in the gallery that Morgan created for her display in the gallery exhibit.
$45.00 per participant. All materials provided. Participation is limited and pre-registration is required. Please email Mary.Laliberte@openskycs.org to pre-register.
Day 1: Creating the Face
Tuesday, August 1, 2023 from 7:00-8:00 pm
Learn how to warp a circular loom
Learn the basics of circular weaving
Start weaving the face of your sunflower!
Day 2: Adding Petals
Tuesday, August 8, 2023 from 7:00-8:30 pm
Cut felt petals to shape
Glue petals in place
Finishing touches!
NOTE: Some weaving work will have to be done between classes in order to complete the project
